Songkran Fun

There hasn't been much to write about in Asher-land lately. After we returned from the beach we enjoyed a whole week of having Daddy at home during the day because of Songkran. Songkran is the Thai New Year and basically it is a country-wide water fight.

Here you can see Asher in traditional Songkran dress. No joke, the entire country wears these shirts for about two weeks. I waited and waited to buy Asher a shirt and finally got around to it the night before the holiday started. As a result the smallest size I could find was 6 years...but it still pretty much fit him. The upside was that it was already on sale. I paid a whopping $1.50 for this beauty.

Most people drive around and squirt people with water guns, throw white powder at everybody and generally just have fun. They call it "playing Songkran". We joined in a small part of the fun one afternoon. We didn't get too wet (people didn't want to upset Asher), but Asher did get his face painted with the white powder several times.
