30 Weeks

We had an ultrasound this week and were happy to see that Baby Boy is still a boy and still very healthy. With 10 weeks to go he is weighing in at 3 lbs 2 oz (1431 grams). Who knows, maybe he will even be here sooner than that. The measurements they took had him at anywhere from 30 weeks 3 days (his big head) to 28 weeks 5 days (his little legs). So again it looks like I'm going to be having another baby boy with a big noggin'.

Here's my other baby boy and his big head showing off his little belly along with my big belly.

I pointed to my belly and asked, "What's this?"
He immediately, and confidently, answered, "Ball!"

Who thinks he's going to be disappointed when December rolls around and we end up with a new baby instead of a new ball?

Boy Oh Boy

That's right, there's going to be another boy at the Hampton House.

The ultrasound today showed us a healthy, growing baby boy. This one is a bit more modest than Asher, but we managed to get the proof we needed.

While this does mean I need to stop perusing Baby Gap for dresses I do finally feel justified in lugging every bit of Asher's baby clothing from Indonesia to Kentucky to Vancouver to Bangkok.

Trucks, snails, cars and dirt. I think having two boys is going to fun!

Catching Up and Bubbles

Our computer has been in and out of the repair shop lately, so I haven't been able to keep everyone updated quite like I like to.

Asher is still all boy. He is obsessed with anything that has wheels. Good thing for him we live in Bangkok where we see cars, taxis, trucks, busses, motorcycles, tuk-tuks, and bicycles everywhere we go. He has recently learned to say truck and tuk-tuk. He won't say taxi, he just calls it a car, but every time he sees a taxi he holds out his arm just like Roger and I do when we need one to stop and pick us up.

Asher has also gotten really good at doing a "wai." A wai is the Thai greeting that is done by putting your hands together in front of your body. When we tell him (in Thai) to say hello, goodbye or thank you he will do a wai. We love it and the Thai people love it, too.

I haven't taken too many pictures lately, but here are a few from this week. Asher and I were enjoying a morning playing with blocks and cars.

Our newest toy is Asher's bubble maker. We bought it at the weekend market recently (for $1!) have spent many hours sitting on the front porch making bubbles. Asher loves to chase the bubbles and yell "Bubble!" when they go off into the yard.

Baby #2 is still doing great. We got to see the little one last week, but really it looked more like blob than baby. The due date is December 22 and I am just praying that this one will not be as late as Asher. I am hoping for a December baby. For now I am looking forward to this first trimester being over and hopefully getting some of my energy back and getting past all of the nausea.

New Pictures of Asher

These are the pictures from the ultrasound we had this week. You can see Asher's face, hands and feet.

Who do you think he looks like?

26 Weeks

Grandma and Uncle Mel are here! On Monday they went with us to have a 4D ultrasound and we were able to see Asher's face. We haven't scanned the actual photos yet, but we do have some videos. Below is a video of Asher yawning and kicking, you can see his hand and foot up by his face.

In this next video you can see his legs and then his face. We think he looks like Roger.

There are actually six videos from the ultrasound and you can see them if you click on this link: www.youtube.com/rahj218.

Baby Asher is still growing, he now weighs 1 pound 15 ounces (877 grams) and is completely healthy. The doctor measured every part of him and he found everything to be normal. We listened to Asher's heartbeat and to the blood flow from the umbilical cord. I am so happy that my mom and Melvin could be here to see and hear him!

This is my belly at 26 weeks. The belly is still growing, but I am feeling pretty good. Asher is kicking more everyday and has recently started kicking the bottom of my ribs.

My mom brought a whole bag of stuff for Asher. I will work on getting some pictures of all the clothes, blankets, diaper bags and other goodies that he now has.

Big Head Baby

Yesterday we went to the doctor and has the customary ultrasound. Baby Boy is still doing great, Dr. Pujo said everything looked perfect. We saw (and I felt) him squirming around as the doctor checked him out. He made sure that we know he is definitely a boy, just like last time, we didn't need the doctor to tell us that.
He said the baby has a big head (just like his daddy) and was according to the ultrasound I am now 23 weeks (I thought 22). This actually makes the doctors due date of 09-09-08 more likely, originally he just picked that date because it sounded good to him.
I will get Roger to take some pictures soon and put them up in a few days.

We're Thinking Blue!

We went to the doctor tonight and could very clearly see that we are having a son! We are excited and so are the grandmas. Last we heard Grandma Susan was running through the halls of Lone Oak Elementary making sure that everyone knows she is going to have a grandson. Doesn't she look excited?

Everything looked good with the baby boy. We actually got to hear the heartbeat for the first time tonight and could see that he has grown a lot since our last ultrasound 4 weeks ago. In fact, we could even see him starting to take after his Uncle Mel by sucking his thumb!

We went to a new doctor tonight and really liked him. He said that he thought my due date should be September 9 instead of September 15 because, "09-09-08, that would be a good birthday to have, you know with all of those 9's." So, yeah, the power of modern medicine is not to be out done by the doctor thinking that having lots of 9's would be great thing.

Baby's First Picture

The doctor's appointment went well last week. Everything is looking good and I am still feeling pretty good, too. Unfortunately Baby Hampton was sleeping during the ultrasound so we had no chance to see if it's a girl or a boy. Hopefully next time we will be able to see and then I can go buy this baby some clothes. The Baby Gap just opened this weekend and I really want to go buy something.
This first picture is of the head (2.8 cm) and I think a profile shot. The baby sort of looks like an alien.

The next picture is a lot clearer (I think). The baby is now 8.2 cm long and according to some website probably weighs about 1.5 ounces. Crazy!

It looks like something is coming out of the baby's mouth in this picture, Roger thinks that is a hand. He got to see a lot more of the ultrasound this time. The doctor turned the monitor around to do all of the measurements, so I couldn't see much of what was going on.
Today starts week 15, so I will get Roger to take a belly picture for me later today.

Dancing Baby

We went to the doctor today. We were very impressed with the doctor, she seemed to know what she was doing and we feel good about the whole thing. She did an ultrasound and we got to see the baby. He was moving so much! It looked like she was dancing and we could see the heart beating too. The doctor measured the baby and he was 3.2 centimeters long. It was nice to actually talk to the doctor and to see the baby. It makes it seem more real. The doctor also told me that I am 10 weeks and 1 day so far, which would make the due date September 15.
I looked online to see what was going on the with the baby this week. Right now he weighs about 4 grams, has toes and ears and an upper lip. Most importantly the tail is now gone.
We didn't get any pictures printed out from the ultrasound, we will try to get some next time.
