Project 365: 141-147

Day 141

The backyard. A little different than our concrete square of space in Bangkok. It was so quiet and so peaceful and I could almost imagine myself living out here. Almost.

Day 142

The last day of my trip up North started with this view out of the bedroom window. A few water buffalo were strolling around the fields and the neighbors told us they caught a cobra out back the night before.

Day 143

Back at home, back to life with the boys. Buzz Lightyear was guarding the bathroom floor after bath time.

Day 144

On Wednesdays I get to enjoy a morning of fun and coffee with some friends. For the past few weeks I have been in a Chat and Craft class. I tend to focus more on the chat, but this week I did do a little craft and made these magazine beads.

Day 145

The best part of being sick is getting to play with the toys at the doctor's office.

Day 146

Sweet Baby Jack was having a rough day. We spent most of the day watching Baby Einstein and hanging out on the couch.

Day 147

Asher was sick all Friday night, so we were all up making sure he was okay and trying to get him to go back to sleep. By Saturday night he was ready for a good night's sleep.

Project 365: 134-140

Day 134

Skype date with Beth J. A nice way to end the day.

Day 135

Jack is a curious little guy and he's always looking for a way to escape.

Day 136

Asher looks super cool on his little scooter. He saw the big boys down the street riding their scooters and he came right back home and figured out how to ride his.

Day 137

Asher's first day of Kindergarten 1. He was excited to get back to school and see his friends. His new teacher is nice and he has already declared that he loves her.

Day 138

Roger and I got hungry, so I decided to make a quick 7/11 run for some ice cream.

Day 139

With Asher back in school, Jack has free reign over all of the toys. He loves to go into Asher's room, drink all of Asher's water, hold Asher's blanket and drive Asher's cars.

Day 140

I took off for a weekend girls only trip to Northeastern Thailand. We enjoyed a nice dinner on the banks of the Mekong River, overlooking the mountains in Laos. It was definitely a nice change of pace from Bangkok.

Project 365: 127-133

Day 127

Asher's car seat was inside for some reason and sweet little Jack toddled over to it and climbed right in. He was so content to just sit there and watch some early morning Baby Einstein.

Day 128

I met a friend for our normal Monday night dinner and while I was downtown decided to pop into the spa and get a massage. Cheese may be expensive here, but massages are not. I love Bangkok.

Day 129

I'll just go ahead and say it: this is not a flattering picture of Jack. It's actually sort of weird and scary and wow, that boy has a lot of teeth now.

Day 130

We went swimming with some friends today and Asher was all decked out. Of course, my boys did not disappoint: we spent 30 minutes getting changed, putting on sunscreen, blowing up floats, borrowing goggles only to have Jack refuse to get in the pool at all and Asher to spend about 10 minutes standing in the middle of the pool before announcing he was ready to go upstairs and play cars. If nothing else, they are predictable.

 Day 131

We took a trip out of the city to visit a farm and see some horses. It was so nice to see some green, open spaces and finally be out of the city. Asher got to ride a horse and wear some cool cowboy boots.

Day 132

Well, I'm finally at the point where I don't know what else to take pictures of. Here's our laundry hanging up to dry. This house really doesn't have a good place for a long clothesline, so we just hang clothes up in the rafters. At first I was worried about what the neighbors would think, but then I realized that they just wheel their laundry racks out into the middle of the road to get them dry. Also, Bangkok now has Google Street View and if you go by our house you can see some of our laundry hanging up.

Day 133

Jack was cuddling with me and Asher suddenly decided he needed a snack. I asked Asher to hold Jack while I went to cut up apples and I came back in to find this. Moments like this give me a glimmer of hope for the future that I will not always spend all day long pulling them apart and telling them to just leave each other alone.

Project 365: 120-126

Day 120

Asher requested Sloppy Joes for dinner and I thought it would be nice to just eat outside for a change. It was a big hit.

Day 121

We went to meet this sweet baby girl today. She's the youngest of five and just snoozed away while all of the older kids ran around screaming. By the end of our visit 5 of the 7 kids in the room were screaming, I think it was almost nap time.

Day 122

Even though it was 100 degrees outside, Asher just couldn't stop running. He runs back and forth, back and forth, all day long. He likes for Roger or I to run with him while carrying a basketball and he is relentless. There's no stopping for water or to catch your breath. Coach Asher is quite demanding and expects you to leave it all out on the concrete.

Day 123

Post-nap play time has been taking place in Jack's bed. I don't think Jack really enjoys having Asher in his space while he's trying to wake up, but I do like having them both contained in one small space.

Day 124

Asher asks almost everyday if he can ride the airport train and Roger finally said yes. They rode the train out to the airport, ate a doughnut while watching airplanes and then rode the train back home. Asher has been carrying his ticket around all week and can't stop talking about his big trip.

Day 125

I hate ironing, yet, in this dryer free house, it must be done. Constantly.

Day 126

On the evening of my birthday we took an impromptu trip to the beach with some friends. They wanted seafood and I guess there is no better place to get that than the seashore. We did briefly glimpse the ocean, but mostly we walked around enjoying the much cooler temperatures because on my birthday I believe we welcomed in rainy season. What a great birthday present!
